“We are what we eat,” as the ancient Eastern wisdom says. And you can’t argue with that. Our health and well-being, mood and appearance, success in work and study depend on our eating habits, healthy or unhealthy. It is food that can give us a surge of strength and energy in order to think, communicate and create. But food can also be the cause of many diseases that arise from poor eating habits, such as overeating and eating poor quality foods.

On the shelves of grocery supermarkets you can now find a large number of products with various chemical additives, flavor enhancers and dyes, preservatives and stabilizers, which we use. Sometimes we don’t have time to have a normal lunch, fast food comes to the rescue. And in the evening we eat up for the whole day – we have a hearty dinner of fatty, difficult-to-digest food in large quantities. How can our body constantly tolerate this? Naturally, over time, if you do not reconsider your habits, you should expect failures in its operation. A person becomes overweight and obese, has sludge buildup, and the functioning of the pancreas is disrupted, which often leads to diabetes mellitus. The functioning of the gastrointestinal tract and liver may be disrupted. The list goes on.

If you want to change something in your habits, where is the best place to start?

Diversify your diet and go on a diet. Eat foods of both animal and plant origin in order to receive the substances and vitamins necessary for the body in sufficient quantities.

Less sweets like candy, ice cream and even chocolate, which often contain various “chemicals” that will not bring any benefit. If you still buy such treats, study the composition so that they contain as few additives and preservatives as possible. Give preference to natural sugars, honey and fruits.

Include dairy products in your diet, such as milk, cottage cheese, sour cream. It’s no secret that they are the main source of calcium in the diet. They will also provide vitamins B and D, proteins with high biological value.

Love raw food more than boiled and fried. After all, unique nutrients and beneficial substances are destroyed during heat treatment, as a result you receive energy, but the body experiences a deficiency of nutrients. Hunger arises again and you constantly want to eat. The body thus tries to get what it lacks.

Try to eat the most high-calorie and fatty foods in the first half of the day, but do not overeat. Don’t overload your stomach, especially at dinner. Eat plenty of vegetables and fruits. Make vegetable and fruit salads, seasoning them with sour cream or yogurt. Complement meat and fish dishes with salads.

When choosing products in the store, make it a habit to read the ingredients on the labels. Buy as little as possible products with preservatives and flavor enhancers, stabilizers, etc. The product should be as natural as possible. Dietary additives can cause allergies, asthma, migraines, nausea and more serious health problems. The fewer ingredients and substances included in its composition, the better.

If possible, exclude such completely unhealthy products as sausages and boiled sausage, questionable semi-finished products. They belong to processed products and are often simply stuffed with preservatives, flavor enhancers (monosodium glutamate) and flavorings, dyes.

It is very important not only what we eat, but also how we eat.

First of all, you need to get rid of the habit of snacking on the run and in between main meals, in a hurry.

Also try to eat freshly cooked food. Such food is the most useful, in contrast to repeatedly heated food, which almost completely loses its beneficial properties.

If you don’t really want to eat, it’s better to wait. Food eaten with appetite brings much more benefits and is absorbed better.

And one more of the most important rules – eat in a good mood! Slowly and with pleasure, without thinking about anything extraneous.
