Who would have thought that a veggie burger could actually beat a good ole’ fast food and a gourmet burger? Yes, you read it right, vegans managed to find a way to re-create everyone’s favorite snack. Making The Veggie Pattie
- 2 large boiled potatoes
- 1 grated carrot
- ½ cup green peas
- French beans
- 1 onion chopped finely
- 1 teaspoon of chopped ginger and garlic each.
- 2-3 green chili chopped
- ½ teaspoons of turmeric, coriander, cumin, red chili, and garam masala each.
- Bread crumbs as required
- Salt as per taste
- Oil for frying
- Chopped coriander
- Corn flour
Steam carrot, French beans, peas until tender and drain all water from it. Now in a bowl mash boil potatoes and steamed carrots, beans and peas, and keep it aside.
In a pan heat oil, add chopped ginger, garlic and green chilis. Sauté for some seconds and add chopped onions. Cook till the onions turn translucent. Add the dry spices and mix well for 2-3 minutes and turn off the heat. Now, add the onion mixture to the mash veggies. Add chopped coriander and bread crumbs, check seasoning and add more accordingly.
Shape the mixture in a patty form. Make a cornflour mixture by adding water and cornflour. Dip the patties in the mix and coat with biscuits crumbs. Fry the patties until golden brown.
You just have to follow the method properly and you will get the burger done easily. Making burger is not a task, rather making a tasty burger is.

Making The Veggie Burger
- Burger buns
- Sliced cucumber, tomatoes, onions
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced cheese
Cut the buns in half. Toast or grill the buns applying butter in a pan. Take the bun and spread mayonnaise evenly and place the fried patties. Top it up with sliced cucumber, tomatoes, onions, and shredded lettuce. Add cheese slice. Place the other half on top and it’s ready. Serve with fries and chips.
Veggie Burger Tips:
- You can use multi grain bread instead of your regular burger bread.
- Instead of frying the patties you can simply cook it in a pan adding less oil.
- You can change your ingredients as per your choice and be innovative with the dish.
- You can use ketchup or mustard sauce as well.
